Activities in April

The Victoria Barracks Historical Society Brisbane Inc. would like to invite you all to the upcoming activities in April. 
 
Historical Presentation & Launch of the Queensland Military Memorial Museum Exhibition "Heroes Too" Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders in the Defence Force.
 
Come and hear all about the service of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders in the Defence Force at the Inaugural Historical Presentation and launch of "Heroes Too" - An Exhibition on on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders in the Defence Force that highlights the significant contributions made by these 'forgotten' diggers and the opportunities that military service opened up for them; and their lot upon returning to a civilian life, run as part of the 2016 National Heritage Festival until the 21st May 2016. Presented by Dr Dale Kirwan from Griffith University.

ANZAC Day

ANZAC Day Dawn Service & Launch of the Queensland Military Memorial ANZAC Exhibiton - "For a Few Yards" Trench Warfare and the AIF on the Western Front in 1916

All are invited the 2016 ANZAC Day Dawn Service, there will be a gunfire breakfast provided after the service and then after the breakfast come and learn about the people, stories and key battles of the AIF on the Western Front during 1916. This will include an interactive trench display in the clubs pool room
